Hugo Boss Akeen Review
Making great quality products since the 1920s, Hugo Boss is a German fashion house that is still around and striving to this day. Mr. Boss started his company by producing clothing, but they really started booming right before World War II. After the war and Hugo's death, the company backed away from producing uniforms and started focusing their hard work on making great looking men's suits. The company finally went public the 1980s, and from there they began expanding their lines to include both men's and women's wear, fashionable footwear, and fragrances until they became a force to reckoned with in the fashion industry.
The company split into two core brands, the Hugo brand, and the Boss brand. In the case of the Akeen's they fall into the Boss brand category, going further by classifying it as Boss Green (formerly known as Boss Sport). They specialize in athleisure products, such as these sneakers. They might be considered to be a golf shoe, but you are not limited to the golf course when walking around in these. They look great for any casual event and even fit in well at the office. They have a slightly steep price tag and, unfortunately, they have some durability issues if you are too hard on them, so you might want to stay away from the gym with them. Overall, they are not a bad pair of sneakers and customers seem to like them.

Outsole
Not only are they strong, but they also feature a sticky rubber bottom that will help you with your traction while you are out and about. It is great to know that you can go out walking and not have to spend too much time worrying about slipping and falling because your shoes just were not up to the task of keeping you upright. You will be just fine when hanging out on drier surfaces and you should experience too many problems if you hit a slick or wet spot. That being said, you are still going to want to use some caution because they are not meant for slippery conditions and could cause you to lose your footing, but most consumers do not have this problem.
Midsole
If you do decide to purchase these sneakers and find out that the midsole is not going to give you the cushioning that you need, then you can always opt to buy an additional insole so you can get the padding and support that you need, where you need it the most. If you do go this route, you might want to make sure that you consider that when you decide on the size you want. You will probably want to jump up about a half size to leave enough room in the foot chamber for the insole. Most consumers do not need for this though as there seems to be plenty of cushioning underfoot.
Upper
The mesh part of the uppers helps allow for excellent airflow into the foot chamber so your feet can stay cool and dry. It is not just the mesh; however, as the leather and suede also provide a decent amount of airflow as well. Breathability is especially essential when you are heading out on a warmer day as you do not want to worry about overheating. Air will be able to quickly get into your shoes and help cool you down throughout the day. Additionally, the ventilation will help your sweat evaporate efficiently and will allow it to escape your trainers, keeping you dry and giving you a healthier environment for your feet. The dry foot chamber will aid in eliminating odor-causing bacteria that might hang out inside of your sneakers leading to stinky feet.
Weight
The materials that Hugo Boss uses in the construction of the trainers are lightweight while still being functional — giving you the high-quality shoes that you would expect from them while still being able to keep the weight down so you will not be burdened with walking around all day with unnecessarily heavy sneakers.
Support
When it comes to arch support, unfortunately, there is not a whole lot of information available. As mentioned above the info on the midsole is scarce, and therefore we do not know the level of arch support, or if there is even any in them. You can always opt for insoles if they do not give you what you need.
Style
There are a couple of different color options available for you to choose from, so you will be sure to find a design that will best fit your style and personality. You will be able to choose from medium grey, natural (white and tan), black, open blue, or open grey. Whatever colorway you decide to wear, you will look great doing it.
Whether you are heading to the golf course or attending a family barbeque, these sneakers are going to be the perfect fit. They are more of a casual pair of shoes, but some consumers suggested that they could wear these into the office without much of a problem, as they look great with slacks and fit in reasonably well with your business casual attire.
Comfort
The snug fitting uppers are constructed out of flexible and soft materials, including a textile lining, that will give you a pleasant in-shoe experience. Additionally, you should not have to worry too much about rubbing and chafing that can lead to blisters, as consumers have had no problems with this thanks to the soft upper materials.
Even though there is not a lot of information available on the midsole itself, consumers can agree that they are comfortable and give you a pleasant feeling underfoot throughout the day.
Durability
Some reviewers mentioned that they had had some issues with the uppers. They tend to tear quicker than they would have liked when they are being worn to the gym or as a pair of walking shoes. That being said, if you are just wearing them casually and not working out in them, then you should have no problems with the wearing down and falling apart. A few customers even mentioned that they felt cheaply made, even though they are on the pricey side. Of course, there are also the majority of wearers who have had no problems whatsoever. It mostly comes down to what you are doing while wearing them and how well you take care of them.
Fit
Customers have mentioned that the Hugo Boss's are running just a tad bit bigger than usual so you might want to consider that when ordering. Some reviewers have recommended that you get about a half size smaller than you typically would to account for this discrepancy. Some people are frustrated by the fact that the size chart for these sneakers is not the most accurate which can lead to some confusion when placing your order, you should use caution when deciding what size to get.
