So, what can runners expect from the ALTRA Torin 4 Plush? Well, one of the newest features is the shoes Quantic midsole that gives you underfoot cushioning as well as a responsive performance. The Quantic technology made my feet feel super comfy and well supported throughout my run.
The comfortable fit is also down to the shoes Perf-X insole that sits on top of the shoes Strobel lasting board. This feature gave the shoe a noticeably soft surface that was comfy against my foot. When on my run, I noticed that this road running shoe offered a fantastic level of flexibility, because of the shoes InnerFlex system, featuring flex grooves that had been integrated into the midsole. This feature cleverly gave the shoe a natural bend, moving and bending effortlessly with my foot.
Fit
Another feature that I liked was the shoe's engineered knit upper. As soon as I put them on, I loved how the trainer provided a snug fit around my feet and felt extremely lightweight. The engineered knit upper has small breathing holes, allowing air to flow freely through the shoe, keeping my feet cool when on the move. Another detail I liked was the ALTRA logo that was printed on the side of the shoe, near the lacing system. These provided me with some extra support which I liked. The running shoes featured two printed overlays that held my heel firmly in place. A padded tongue and collar also helped create a snug and comfy fit.
Outsole
Other features include a rubber outsole that worked by protecting the midsole from wear and giving the running shoes a good level of traction. The shoes FootPod outsole design also worked by emulating the anatomical structure of the bones and tendons in my foot. The rubber and external flex grooves on the shoe were great because they allowed the shoe to bend and flex as my foot moved.
Made from a firm rubber, the tread provided a good level of traction and did not wear after miles and miles of running. Combining both the FootPod outsole with the Quantic midsole, these two features gave me a firm, fast, and extremely enjoyable, and incredibly smooth run.

Who Is It For?
The ALTRA running shoe is a high-performing model that is ideal for experienced runners who have been running for years. Whilst wearing the shoe I noticed that it provided great absorption when experiencing high impact. It also offered plenty of cushioning.
The neutral running shoe performed well along road surfaces and for daily and long-distance runs. When putting the shoe on for the first time, I noticed that it was true to size. The running shoe weighed approximately 8.5oz.

What I do not like..
It is important to be aware that even though the Torin 4 Plush has a wide toe box, the rest of the running shoe is quite narrow, having been designed to provide a snug fit, especially along the midfoot and heel area.
Compared to Previous Models
One of the features that I love about the Torin 4 Plush is its wide toe box. My toes could spread out and relax, making the running shoe extremely comfy. The wider toe box was great, particularly when I went on long runs.
However, when comparing the Torin 4 Plush to the Torin 3, the Torin 3 has a wider toe box which may make the Torin 4 Plush not suitable for some runners. This detail may be a potential drawback for some loyal fans of the ALTRA model.

Verdict
Overall, if you are looking for a reliable running shoe that is extremely responsive, comfortable, and highly breathable, then I would recommend choosing the ALTRA Torin 4 Plush. Featuring a Quantic midsole, Perf-X insole, and engineered knit upper, this neutral running shoe has plenty to offer.
The only negative aspect to be aware of is the slightly narrower toe box. However, when comparing the running shoe to other brands, the ALTRA Torin 4 Plush still has a wider toe box in general, making it a fantastic option for more experienced runners.
