Brand

Robert and Benjamin Knight began Fruit of the Loom in 1851 when they purchased a mill in Warwick, Rhode Island and began to produce cotton textiles and cloth. The brand was officially trademarked in 1871, which makes it one of the oldest brands in the world. Fruit of the Loom predates the invention of cars, telephones, and light bulbs.

Over one hundred and sixty years later, the company is now selling casual business attire and underwear products globally. If you're looking for underwear products, check here. They employ over twenty-eight thousand people around the world. With time, their reputation has grown and Fruit of the Loom is now known to provide quality, style, and value with each and every product. Check out some of their products here.

The company is committed to making sure that they conduct business in a way that doesn’t only benefit them but also meets the needs of the consumers, the companies they’re in business with, and the hometowns where they run their business while keeping their environmental impact at a minimum.

In order to reduce its carbon footprint, the company pays close attention to improving its sustainability by watching for opportunities to improve social and safety compliance. They even work with their supply chain to help them implement and/or improve their sustainable processes.

There are resources who are dedicated to assisting suppliers with fixing any issues found during their factory assessment. The team will review the plan to fix any findings so that they can be sure sustainable solutions are implemented.

The team is available for ongoing education to help their suppliers become the best they can be. If suppliers refuse help from Fruit of the Loom and don’t meet the sustainability standards, the relationship with the factory is likely to be terminated.

Material

Ninety-five percent of the material used in the construction of the Fruit of the Loom Sports Bra is cotton. It is blended with five percent spandex in order to provide additional stretch resistance (help retain shape) and better structure. One hundred percent cotton may indeed be softer, but it will also stretch out quicker and retain more moisture, making its versatility more limited.

If you’re somebody who prefers the feel of a soft, comfortable bra, have sensitivity and/or allergies to other materials, prefer to wear natural materials, or have sensitive skin, Fruit of the Loom Sports Bra may be exactly what you need.

However, if you’re looking for a heavily supportive bra, you will need one with more of a blend with other materials. The cotton will stretch over time, even with five percent spandex. If you live in very humid and hot climates, your cotton bras won’t hold up as long. They retain moisture from your sweat, take longer to dry, and even develop odors. Sure, you can wear them for your intense workouts, but be sure to wash them very soon after.

Fruit of the Loom Sports Bra is perfect for those looking for comfort, especially during sleep and lounging. They’re also perfect to wear with leggings when you head out for yoga classes or a walk in the park. If you plan on doing something that will generate a lot of sweat, you may want to consider a different option, or be prepared to change out of it very soon after your activity. If you need a bra that isn’t cotton, try here.

Moisture-Wicking

As mentioned above, Fruit of the Loom Sports Bra is great at wicking up moisture. If you are only going to produce a slight amount of sweat, it works perfectly for your needs. However, if you’re out in the heat and humidity for a while and you work up a good sweat, your bra is likely to become saturated. It won’t be able to dry at a quick enough rate. If this happens and you stay in the bra for a few more hours, odors could quickly develop.

It is helpful that the Fruit of the Loom Sports Bra isn’t lined with another layer of cotton-like some others are. If you’re looking for a lined bra, check here. If you’re looking for a sports bra to wear for rigorous activities or exercising, you may want to consider other options.

If you’re looking for a sports bra that’s going to give you soft comfort and be kind to your skin, Fruit of the Loom Sports Bra has you covered. But keep in mind that it is most suitable for loungewear, sleepwear, and casual or businesswear when you’re not going to be perspiring much.

Comfort

Fruit of the Loom Sports Bra works in many ways to give you the comfort you’re seeking. If you have sensitive skin, are allergic to certain materials, prefer natural materials, and love the feeling of soft cotton against your skin, you may be interested in this sports bra. Cotton is great for people who have sensitive skin and/or allergies.

Fruit of the Loom Sports Bra does not include a tag, relieving you of that painfully annoying itch in the middle of your back. It is also wireless, relieving you of the annoying pressure, skin irritation, and inevitable poking. Your shoulders appreciate the thin cotton spaghetti straps that don’t dig into your skin and leave red creases behind. There is even a set of pads included if you wish to have another layer of comfort. If you experience skin irritation from your bras, try these.

Coverage

It is important to consider how much coverage you need out of your sports bra before buying it. Are you going to be wearing it under t-shirts and blouses? Do you want it to be visible or hidden? Do you want it to act as a camisole under a v-neck shirt?

This Fruit of the Loom Sports Bra is a full-coverage style. It has a crop top design and will cover the space or crease between your breasts. It can partner up with a v-neck shirt to give you the coverage you need while keeping the style you desire. Or, wear it under a t-shirt and it won’t be visible at all, thanks to the spaghetti straps. Some bras have straps that basically hug your neck.

If you’re worried about your breasts being visible through the one-layered bra, there are pads included in your purchase that you can use for additional coverage. You could also try an exercise shirt.

Support

Fruit of the Loom Sports Bra provides adequate support so long as you’re not big-breasted or exercising heavily. This bra was designed more for leisure and everyday wear as opposed to working out in. If you are small-chested, it should provide plenty of support for you. If not, many people actually wear two sports bras sometimes to get them the support they need.

The spandex that is in the Fruit of the Loom Sports Bra is what is going to lend a helping hand in the support department. The spandex will help the cotton to retain its shape longer. The longer it retains its shape, the tighter it will stay. So, even though it will move comfortably with you, it won’t stay stretched out so easily.

When you move, your breasts’ muscle ligaments move as well. When exercising heavily, this can result in pain. That’s why support is very important. When you have the right support for your body, you are likely to experience less pain or no pain after workouts.

It is believed that when you combine a lot of movement with not a lot of support, it can result in sagging of the breasts. This is when sports bras, like the Fruit of the Loom Sports Bra, can really come in handy for your present and future. If it can provide the support you need, it’s worth the buy.

The Fruit of the Loom Sports Bra does not provide an ideal amount of support for runners or large-chested women. However, there are sports bras out there that do.

Versatility

Once upon a time, women only donned sports bras if they were athletes, runners, or recovering from surgeries. It used to be more common to believe we always had to have our breasts looking their best for everyone else. However, more people are realizing the health benefits and comfort benefits that come from wearing one.

Sure, they’re great for exercising, but they’re also great for relaxing, sleeping, walking, working, and traveling. They’ve become rather trendy, actually. You can find a bigger variety of shapes, designs, colors, patterns, and styles than you ever could with regular bras. This variety is shown in the Fruit of the Loom Sports Bra color schemes offered. These can come in handy for sleeping, too.

They’re becoming so popular in the fashion industry because crop tops are so loved. You can wear most sports bras as if they were a crop top. Pair your Fruit of the Loom Sports Bra with your favorite shorts, capris, leggings, skirts, etc and enjoy the freedom of being shirtless. For leggings, check here.

Style

It used to be that you’d never associate sports bras with the work ‘style’. But, times change, and so did the design process. While still designed with functionality in mind, sports bras now come in so many different shapes, sizes, colors, etc.

The Fruit of the Loom Sports Bra is a crop top style with full-coverage and comfortable spaghetti straps. It can be worn without a shirt, as an accent color under a v-neck top, or as a “regular” bra under a t-shirt. When worn in certain ways, it will just look like a camisole under your shirt.

There is a wide variety of color schemes to choose from, and the Fruit of the Loom Sports Bra comes in a pack of three. The colors options are: black/white/red hot, rose/white/black, grey and black/navy and black/black, grey and black/white/black, kaleidoscope/charcoal/peach, mint/white/grey, pin dot/popsicle pink/white, popsicle pink/white/black, red/white/black, black and white stripes/black/red, white/grey/black, three white, grey/white/azure, grey/white/heather blue, red/black/heather blue, red/black/passion fruit, and passion fruit/white/black.

Care

It is important to properly care for any clothing items if you want to get your money’s worth out of them. It is no different when it comes to your Fruit of the Loom Sports Bra. Since it wicks up moisture and doesn’t dry very quickly, you’re going to want to wash it as soon as you can to avoid bacteria and odors.

It can be hand-washed or machine washed. Make sure to use cold water and put it with like colors in order to prevent color bleeding. If you need to use bleach, make sure it does not contain chlorine. The Fruit of the Loom Sports Bra can go in the dryer on the low-temperature setting. Remove promptly and if it needs to be ironed, use the low-temperature setting.

Fit

Sports bras are typically designed to provide a snug, supportive, comfortable fit. The Fruit of the Loom Sports Bra is made mostly of cotton, which will be comfortable, and will move with you. However, it can become stretched out quicker than other options. There is only five percent spandex in this bra, which will help prolong the life of it, but not as effectively as sports bras that have more of a material blend.

Consumers have reported that this bra does fit very tightly because it runs small. So, if you are looking for a tight fit, try ordering your regular size. If you are looking for more of a relaxed, leisurely fit, try sizing up. Add to your leisure wardrobe with a pair of slippers.

Warranty

It’s always risky purchasing products online, especially clothing products. You have no way of knowing how or if they will fit comfortably. Thankfully, Fruit of the Loom understands this and offers a money-back guarantee. If you find that you are not one hundred percent satisfied with your purchase, you are able to return it (in its original condition), unwashed, unused, and with its original packaging. Include the tags and proof of purchase.

You may do this within the first ninety days following your purchase. Fruit of the Loom only accepts returned items if they were purchased on Fruit.com. If you purchase the item elsewhere, contact that retailer for return instructions.

You will receive a refund in the total of the merchandise, applicable sales tax that you paid, and the shipping. It may take as many as fourteen business days for your return to be processed, and up to two billing cycles for your credit to appear on your statement.

Bottom Line

If you’re big-chested, create a lot of sweat, or exercise often, the Fruit of the Loom Sports Bra may not be best for you. You will require additional support and a different blend of materials. However, if you are small-chested and want a sports bra that is great for casual, work, leisure, and sleep-it may be just what you’re looking for.

Some great things about this bra include the style (spaghetti straps, full-coverage crop top, color schemes), the soft cotton/spandex blend, the versatility, and the affordability. However, it is also lacking in support, breathability, and stretchiness.
