Truwomen Protein Bar Review
If you tend to shy away from protein bars when you’re shopping for healthy energy boosters or healthy snacks, you’re not alone. Not even close. A lot of people don’t care for the bars that taste like cardboard and are as hard as a rock. It’s not surprising. Truwomen decided they wanted to come up with a solution for that.
These bars are packed with healthy ingredients that are clean, simple, vegetarian, vegan, non-GMO and gluten-free. Truwomen was able to combine certain ingredients together in order to give you nutrients and a taste you don’t have to scrunch up your face for. It’s hard to imagine they can be good for you when they actually taste good.
Each bar has twelve grams of protein from plants that deliver flavor without the junk. They are made with pure ingredients, including brown rice protein and cassava flour, as well as being sweetened (lightly) with cane sugar that is organic. Truwomen bars are gluten-free, free from sugar alcohols, non-dairy, non-soy, and one hundred percent fueled by plants.
You don’t have to be an athlete or a runner in order to indulge in some good old healthy protein bars. Yes, you can definitely use these bars as an energy boost before or after your workouts, but you can also enjoy a boost between meals, while you’re stuck in traffic, walking to work, or literally anytime you want.
People don’t have much to say negatively about these bars unless they do not enjoy the taste or texture. Let’s face it, when you’re dealing with anything that involves flavor, there will inevitably be many people who do not agree that the taste is great.

Women are not defined by the way their bodies look.
The company hires at-risk women who may be recovering addicts, victims of violence, and even those who have been in jail. Many of the people and company’s that Truwomen partners with are also founded and led by females.
Truwomen products launched in 2018 and are available at Truwomen.com as well as Amazon.com.
Energy Boost
Whether you’re gearing up for a workout or long day at work, needing a boost in the middle of the day, or wanting to rejuvenate after your workout or at the end of the day, you’ll love the energy boost that you’ll receive from Truwomen’s protein bars.
The difference between Truwomen and some other brands on the market is the quality of the ingredients. Truwomen products are healthy for you and are vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, etc. These bars serve a large demographic of people and can cater to many diets.
Flavors
The protein bars from Truwomen, however, come in nine mouth-watering flavors, including Smother Fudger Peanut Butter, Daydreaming About Donuts, I Scream For Orange Cream, Oh Oh Cookie Dough, Red Velvet Ready, Saltylicious Almond Love, Whipped For Key Lime, Whole Lotta Macchiato, and Zamn Good Zesty Lemon.
Biting into a Smother Fudger Peanut Butter bar is like eating a spoonful of peanut butter straight from the jar, except the peanut butter is smothered in fudgy chocolate. Oh Oh Cookie Dough will satisfy your craving for cookie dough without all of the unhealthy ingredients. Give in to your donut craving anytime with the delicious Daydreaming About Donuts flavor, without worrying about feeling gross afterward. And if you love the taste of lemon cake, you’ll rave about the subtle punch of lemon flavor packed into the Zamn Good Zesty Lemon bar.
Ingredients
The main ingredients in all flavors of this bar are brown rice protein, cassava flour, peanut butter, palm oil, cane sugar, sea salt, peanut flour, sunflower lecithin, and sunflower oil. Each bar is one hundred and ninety to two hundred calories, has nine grams of fat, three and a half grams of saturated fat, zero grams of trans fat, zero milligrams of cholesterol, seventy-five milligrams of sodium, twenty-four grams of carbohydrates, two grams of dietary fiber, eight grams of sugar, twelve grams of protein, fourteen milligrams of calcium, two milligrams of iron, and twenty milligrams of potassium.
Cassava flour is made from yuca root, which is full of carbohydrates, calories, and Vitamin C, as well as packing a bunch of flavor. The brown rice protein is from Oryzatein, which is the first allergen-friendly source of protein. It does not have a grainy texture or chalky flavor and is easily digested. Cocoa powder is loaded with antioxidants and chocolate flavor. The palm oil, sunflower lecithin, and sunflower oil are all free of cholesterol and trans fat. Sea salt is very minimally processed and is used to enhance flavors and serve as a seasoning.
Vegan Approved
Plant Fueled means (surprise) plant-based, straight from nature (AKA Vegan). All of Truwomen’s products (protein bars and powders) are made with ingredients that are plant-based, including cassava flour, brown rice protein, and pea protein. The company takes pride in the composition of their products and the way they taste.
When Truwomen shared their vision of making a protein source that is vegan, they were told there was no way to do it and still deliver on taste. Those people were proven wrong when Truwomen made products that are Vegan Certified and still taste great. It is more difficult to produce protein bars that are plant-based, but it is worth it for the greater good of women’s health.
Non-GMO
Genetic modification is not uncommon. It has been utilized for multiple commercial purposes. However, it is used most in the production of food. GMOs are intended to enhance the foods’ resistance to certain diseases, increase the nutrition levels, help crop yields increase, or to forcefully create desired traits in certain species. GMOs, however, are not safe.
Foods that contain GMOs are linked to a plethora of diseases and conditions. This includes, but is not limited to, gastrointestinal disorders, organ damage, cancer, and infertility. There is also a much higher presence of chemicals and pesticides. Because people are starting to focus more on eating healthier and more natural products, foods without GMOs are becoming more and more popular.
When you opt for non-GMO products, you may find that some or many of your symptoms will decrease or even disappear shortly after you begin consuming healthier food. These products do not contain antibiotics and growth hormones that are injected into animal foods which can cause damage to your body and make you more susceptible to diseases.
GMO foods contain chemical preservatives which will make them “last longer”, but this means that your food that looks fresh, may not be so fresh after all. Foods can only benefit your body when they are fresh. When they are past the point of freshness, the nutrients begin to dissipate.
GMO foods require an environment rich in chemicals, which will cause the soil to erode and become unusable as well as creating additional pollution and using more energy. Non-GMO foods are proven to contain more nutrients like certain vital minerals and vitamins as well as omega fatty acids.
Kosher
In order to receive Kosher Certification, every single ingredient in every single product (all well as the process to prepare the product) needs to be certified for kosher-compliance. Via Torah laws, the only kind of meat that may be consumed is game and cattle that “chew the cud” and have “cloven hooves”. If the animal only meets one of these requirements, it is not permitted to be eaten. Pigs have split hooves but they do not chew the cud, so they are an example of non-Kosher meat. Kosher animals include, but are not limited to, cows, sheep, goats, lambs, springbok, and veal.
Also, according to Torah law, a Kosher animal must be butchered by a ritual slaughterer known as a “Schochet”. Jewish Law doesn’t allow pain to be caused to animals, so the animals must be slaughtered in a way that knocks it unconscious instantly and death comes very soon after. Truwomen products are Kosher.
Bottom Line
You do not have to be super active or an athlete in order to enjoy protein bars. Everyone can use more nutrients in their body. Grab one for breakfast, your lunch break, after work, before a workout, and after a workout to give yourself the energy you need to make it through your day.
Eating healthier won’t just help you prevent future problems and help you live longer, it will make you feel exponentially better in general and even alleviate some symptoms of existing conditions. It’s well worth the cost to try a product that could do so much good for your body.
